BOSTON DESIGN FIRM SHOWCASES RESIDENTIAL WINE TASTING ROOM AT JUNIOR LEAGUE SHOW HOUSE
(BOSTON, April 1, 2002) - Recent years have witnessed a reported 30-50 percent increase in the sale of wine. Following that trend, many homeowners are looking to enhance their at-home wine drinking experience by incorporating a room devoted simply to the storage and enjoyment of wine. D+M Interiors of Boston has met that demand for consumers and will be showcasing a model wine tasting room at this year's Junior League of Boston Decorator's Show House.
Translating the feeling of a European bistro into a more personal size, this show house gives D+M Interiors the opportunity to show homeowners how to utilize existing space as a place to entertain guests and family or simply enjoy an intimate wine tasting experience.
Much like a bistro, the style of the room was carefully chosen to reflect an ambient space in which to savor wine. Incorporated into the space is a palette of scarlet, gold and black with rich and varied textures including suede-upholstered walls, leather covered stools, a tented ceiling and marble counters. The classically refined cabinetry, masterfully crafted by Payne/Bouchier, is cloaked in a clean black finish and accommodates wine and accessory storage.
D+M Interiors' wine tasting room at the Decorator's Show House illustrates to attendees that thoughtful design can transpose the smallest of rooms into a striking and life-enhancing space.
The Junior League of Boston's 30th Decorator's Show House will be open to general admission May 4-23 and is located at 665 Clapboard Tree St. in Westwood, Massachusetts.
